The term UAN refers to a urea-ammonia mixture. It is obtained by adding ammonium nitrate to a dissolved mixture of aqueous urea. The result is a liquid fertiliser that is easy to apply, transport and use to achieve high results with a prolonged effect.
Fertilisers are applied during planting within a limited time frame. To do this, UAN must be concentrated in farms in close proximity to the fields before sowing. Metal prefabricated tanks with membranes manufactured by YFP GROUP can be used to store UAN:
- above-ground tanks;
- buried, partially located underground;
- underground.
UAN is a mildly aggressive substance. The membrane in the tank prevents the fertiliser from coming into contact with the metal of the tank and prevents metal corrosion.
Warranty and service life:
YFP tanks – 5-year warranty;
Service life of over 30 years.
Above-ground tank design:
- Reinforced concrete slab foundation. YFP only provides recommendations for foundations; foundation calculations are performed by designers and design organisations after studying the soil geology.
- The body is steel, galvanised, prefabricated, self-supporting. Steel sheets are fastened together with bolted connections. Sheet thickness is from 1 to 4 mm. Sheet thickness decreases with installation height. In tanks with a metal membrane, only the cylinder walls are metal; the bottom is a reinforced concrete foundation.
- The roof is made of profiled sheet metal, insulated with polystyrene, and must withstand wind and snow loads depending on the location of the tank.
- The membrane is a PVC insert with a thickness of 0.5–1.0 mm. It is manufactured to the size of the tank with a margin and is hung inside the tank after the tank has been assembled and insulated. It is attached to the metal walls at the top of the tank.
- Ladder – installed outside and inside the tank for maintenance of the tank from above and inside.
- Inspection – technological hatches for maintenance and repair of the tank can be installed on the roof.
- The tank piping includes:
– Feed pipeline – supply of UAN to the tank.
– Outlet pipeline (suction) – supply of UAN to the pumps. This is done by connecting the pipeline to the lower side of the tank.
Note! Stainless steel wedge gate valves with a retractable stem are used in the suction piping of the tanks. – Overflow – water discharge when the tank is full;
– Drainage – discharge to the bottom for draining UAN from the tank.
To place an order for a fire tank, you need:
- A master plan with tank locations.
- The type of tank: above-ground or underground.
- The useful volume of the tank – the volume of CAS stored (m3). The geometric volume is how much liquid can be collected in the tank. The geometric volume is always greater than the useful volume. For large tank diameters and large diameters of side-connected outlet pipes, the difference between the geometric and useful volumes can reach 10-15%.
- Technical specifications for piping and automation.
