The YFP Group of Companies offers fire tanks of its own production.
YFP tanks are manufactured and certified in Ukraine:
- prefabricated metal above-ground vertical tanks. Capacity from 25 to 4000 m³, height up to 10.4 m;
- prefabricated metal underground vertical tanks. Capacity from 25 to 500 m³, depth up to 4.7 m;
- plastic vertical above-ground tanks. Capacity from 1 to 100 m³.
Above-ground tank design
- The foundation is a reinforced concrete slab. YFP only provides recommendations for foundations; foundation calculations are performed by designers and design organisations after studying the soil geology.
- The body is steel, galvanised, prefabricated, and self-supporting. Steel sheets are fastened together with bolted connections. Sheet thickness is from 1 to 4 mm. Sheet thickness decreases with installation height. In tanks with a metal membrane, only the cylinder walls are metal; the bottom is a reinforced concrete foundation.
- The roof is made of profiled sheet metal, insulated with polystyrene, and must withstand wind and snow loads depending on the location of the tank.
- Tank insulation for Ukraine is carried out with 50 mm or 100 mm expanded polystyrene: – tanks with a membrane are insulated from the inside by gluing polystyrene sheets to the tank walls. After gluing the polystyrene, an artificial non-woven fabric (geotextile) is hung, and then the membrane is attached.
- Membrane – PVC liner with a thickness of 0.5 – 1.0 mm. It is manufactured according to the size of the tank with a margin and hung inside the tank after assembly and insulation of the tank. It is attached to the metal walls at the top of the tank.
- Heating and automation. To prevent water from freezing in the tank and its deformation, a tubular electric heater (TEN) is installed on the tanks. The power of the TEN is selected depending on the volume of the tank. The purpose of the TEN is to prevent the upper water surface from freezing. For this purpose, the TEN is installed in the upper part of the tank, as only the upper layer of water needs to be heated. The operation of the TEN is monitored by an automatic system, which turns it on when the water temperature falls below +1°C and turns it off at +3°C. The automatic system also monitors the water level in the tank. If the water level in the tank drops, it sends a signal to the control panel and turns off the power to the TEN to prevent dry heating and failure.
- The tank piping includes:
– supply pipeline – water supply to the tank. Water can be supplied to the top of the tank through a pipeline either outside or inside the tank, with a mandatory break in the jet between the edge of the supply pipe and the upper water level in the tank.
– outlet pipeline (suction) – supplying water to fire pumps (provide a link to the YFP pumping station website) is carried out by flange connection of the pipeline in the lower side of the tank or in the bottom of the tank.
Note! Wedge gate valves with a retractable stem are used in the suction piping of the tanks. (Provide a link to the YFP website with shut-off valves) – anti-vortex plate – installed in the tank on the water supply pipe to the fire pumps. The plate prevents the formation of a funnel in the water and premature air entering the pump.
– overflow – discharge of water when the tank is full to maximum capacity
– drainage – discharge at the bottom to drain water from the tank
– Bypass (test pipeline) – connected to the top of the tank to discharge water during testing and technological pump starts (according to the design). Note! A flow meter is used to measure the performance of the pumping station.
8. Ladder – installed outside and inside the tank for servicing the tank from above and inside.
9. Inspection – technological hatches for servicing and repairing the tank can be installed on the roof.
10. Level sensor – installed in the tank and allows you to monitor the minimum, average and maximum water levels.
Note: The automation system that monitors the water level and temperature is installed on the tank. The placement of the automation system in the pump room or on the control panel is not included in the cost of the tank and requires the laying of separate communication lines.
Warranty and service life
- YFP tanks – 5-year warranty;
- Service life of over 30 years.
To place an order for a fire tank, you need:
- A master plan with the location of the tanks and the pump station;
- The type of tank: above-ground or underground;
- The useful volume of the tank – the volume of water for firefighting (m3). The geometric volume is how much water can be collected in the tank. The geometric volume is always greater than the useful volume. For large tank diameters and large diameters of side-connected outlet pipes, the difference between the geometric and useful volumes can reach 10-15%;
- Technical specifications for piping and automation.
