Patterson Pumps Ireland is a manufacturer of diesel and electric pumping equipment for firefighting and pumping systems, both for drinking and technical water. Patterson pumping equipment is reliable and efficient. It is used in fire extinguishing systems (deluge, sprinkler, TRV extinguishing), in internal fire water supply systems, and for supplying water through external hydrants.
Both individual pumps and complete stations, as well as stations assembled in block containers, can be supplied.
Production is FM certified.
Country of manufacture: Ireland.
Patterson pumping equipment includes four types of pumps:
- vertical semi-submersible,
- with coaxial pipes,
- double-entry,
- cantilever.
The type of drive used can be:
The type of drive used to operate the pump depends on:
- building codes and requirements
- insurance company recommendations
- the customer's choice and preferences.
Vertical semi-submersible pumps (vertical turbine)
Technical specifications
- Capacity (Q): from 500 to 5000 gallons per minute (from 1892 to 18,925 litres per minute)
- Head (H): up to 400 m
- Fluid temperature (T): from -20 to +150°C
- Used with electric drive.
- Made of cast iron.
- The semi-submersible multistage centrifugal pump is most in demand when equipping pumping stations.
Advantages
- High efficiency.
- Compact design.
- Vertical design saves space in the pump room.
- Easy to maintain during operation.
- Low noise level during operation.
- Long service life thanks to anti-abrasive impeller, diffuser and inlet filter.
- Used for delivering clean, waste and sea water.
Pumps with coaxial pipes
Technical data
- Capacity (Q): from 189 to 4732 litres per minute
- Pressure (P) = up to 15 bar
- Head (H): up to 140 m
- T: from -20 to +150°C
- Used only with electric drive.
- Made of cast iron.
- The pump with coaxial pipes is easy to install thanks to the design of the IN-LINE series: the suction and discharge pipes are coaxial (on the same line).
Advantages of use
- The convenient vertical layout of the device makes it indispensable in certain cases of pump station design.
- The cast impeller ensures smooth operation when pumping liquids and optimal performance, reducing power losses on inductive resistance.
Double-entry pumps
Operating characteristics
- Capacity (Q): from 198 to 18,925 l/min (up to 5,000 gallons per minute)
- Head: up to 240 m
- T: from -20 to +120°C
- Used with electric or diesel drive.
- Made of cast iron, bronze, stainless steel.
Technical advantages
- The split housing in the horizontal plane allows maintenance of the device without disconnecting it from the pipeline and electric motor, replacement of internal parts (bearings, rings, seals), and oil treatment.
- Vibration absorption by a flexible coupling that is easy to remove for repair.
- The coupling is equipped with a protective cover for safe operation.
- The presence of measuring taps on the pipes (suction and discharge).
- They are highly energy efficient.
Double-entry pumps with a detachable body are the leading choice for the design of water and foam fire extinguishing systems.
Patterson console pumps
Technical specifications
- Capacity (Q): up to 28,500 l/m
- Head (H): 150 m
- T: from -40 to +180°C
- Used with diesel or electric drive.
- Made of cast iron, stainless steel.
A distinctive feature of this type of Patterson horizontal single-stage console pump is that the hydraulic part and electric motor are mounted on a base frame in a single highly efficient design.
This allows you to:
- minimise energy consumption;
- simplify and ensure motor maintenance, with easy access to internal parts without removing it, but by sliding out the rear part thanks to the sliding base (foundation);
- adapt to any placement parameters (even for small areas).
