The WEFLO F1511 control unit is a key component of water-filled sprinkler fire extinguishing systems, providing reliable water flow control and timely notification in case of activation. This flanged valve combines the functionality of a check valve and an intelligent alarm system, ensuring uninterrupted operation and a high level of safety.
Key features and benefits:
- Multifunctionality: WEFLO F1511 acts as a check valve, preventing backflow of water from the system to the water supply source.
- False alarm prevention: A bypass line with a built-in swing check valve allows minor pressure fluctuations to pass without activating the alarm, minimising the risk of false alarms.
- Instant alarm activation: When there is a significant flow of water (e.g. from an open sprinkler), the control valve lifts, allowing water to enter the system and simultaneously directing it to an intermediate chamber to activate a water chime or electric alarm. The alarms continue until the water flow stops.
- High-strength materials: The valve is made of lightweight and durable ductile iron (grade A536 65-45-12 for the body and cover), which ensures durability and corrosion resistance thanks to internal and external painting.
- Ease of maintenance: The valve design provides easy access to all internal parts, allowing them to be replaced without dismantling the valve. The valve rubber gasket (EPDM) is also easily replaced without removing the cover.
- Installation versatility: The UL-listed model can be installed vertically and used in both constant and variable pressure systems (provided that an additional delay chamber is included).
- High working pressure: Rated for 300 PSI (2065 kPa) and hydrostatically tested to 600 PSI (4135 kPa).
Main component materials:
- Body, Cover, Disc: High-strength cast iron (A536 65-45-12)
- Gasket, Disc ring: EPDM rubber
- Shutter, spring, connector: Stainless steel (AISI 304, A2-70).
- Support: Bronze (B62 C83600).
- Lock: Brass (B16 C36600)
How it works:
Once installed, the signal valve receives pressure above the cover, which prevents reverse water flow. Minor pressure surges pass through the bypass line. When there is a prolonged flow of water (e.g., sprinkler activation), the valve cover lifts, allowing water to enter the intermediate chamber and activate the alarms. When used with a delay chamber, the water first fills it and then, with a continuous flow, activates the water gong alarm or electric pressure relay.
Application:
Ideal for use in commercial, industrial and residential facilities that require a reliable and rapid response fire extinguishing system.
